Art Du Jour

Red
This is a piece that really symbolizes a lot to me.
It was done as one of many expressions of pain,
in relevance to a dieing relationship.
I wanted to post it and see how it makes you guys feel.
I really would appreciate some critique,
if any of you feel up to it:)
It was done in 2009, sometime.
It is entitled "Red",
for some not-so-obvious reasons.
Drawn with Sharpies.
Black background is painted with Speed-ball ink.

Dorsal

This is one of two pieces I did on some very special paper. It was watercolor paper from a tablet that my grandfather used. I received his art supplies after his passing, and amongst his things was a tiny, post card sized tablet of multi-colored watercolor paper. I naturally wanted to soil these pages with ink. "Dorsal" was the second piece I drew, after "Fluke". My dear friend, Chris, is now the owner of this piece, as it was a favorite of his when we lived together. I wanted to post it, first, because this entire blog was his idea:) Let's see if he will chime in....

Welcome My Website!!!

Welcome my website! Thank you to Chris, for paying for the whole thing, and for urging me to actually get started on it! I spent about ten hours collecting and editing my pictures, the other night. I then spent about 5 or more hours building the site. It is still a work in progress, but I feel it is, at the very least, presentable, now. It looks pretty good, in my opinion. Then, again, I am very much partial to my own work. I am looking for constructive criticism.

I am looking forward, now, to helping my Ambria build a site of her own. She is such a great little artist, and I want to encourage her efforts:)

So....everyone RUN....don't walk....to aspensart.com and give it a look-see. Let me know how you like it! Then buy some!!!! :)

New Year and renewed efforts.....

Well, It is a new year. We welcome 2011. If you go by the Mayan calendar, this is our final countdown, as Earthlings. I don't buy into, personally. This year promises to be a strong year for me. I have the whole world at my fingertips, and nothing to lose but my inhibitions. I have been finding myself interminably busy, and thus, unable to tackle the task of designing my website. A dear friend is flipping the bill for it, right now...and the very least I can do is to show some interest in my own website. So, I pulled an all-nighter, last night. Ten hours, in all, spent locating and editing art work for AspensArt.com. I have yet to change the first thing on my website, but I have eliminated much of the hassle. Ambria Leigh wants to have a website of her own, as well, but first things first, eh?
